Hello from the Founder
Sharing the Story of Ruah.
After my last job in 2014, I had been on an intense spiritual journey, seeking to know the truth about God. The last 10 years have been extremely gratifying, walking in the will of God and serving Him with all of my heart. Nurturing the inner spirit, mind and soul by aligning all thoughts and emotions with God’s ways has been the essence of these years.
In March 2025, I felt a strong prodding to start a clothing line for women. I was surprised myself, but went along with God’s leading voice. We got the brand name, “Ruah”.
In Hebrew, "Ruah" (רוּחַ) means "breath, spirit, wind, or air," and is often used to describe God's spirit or the divine presence. I knew God would guide me in every step and so began this venture, in faith.
Over years of counselling countless women, I have seen many wounds to their self esteem. Their sense of worth is very low, with the world judging based on outer looks and maybe their own loved ones criticizing their every move. This brand is dedicated to celebrating womanhood, letting her know that she is loved and valued for who she is and reminding her of all the beauty that our Creator, the Master Designer has already woven within!!
FabIndia used to be my favourite, with their lovely silk kurtas and printed dupattas. But when they got expensive, I thought of recreating the same look, but at reasonable rates. Thus started the journey of looking for the right fabric (rich yet not gaudy, simple yet with a tinge of shine, vibrant colours in just the right shades) & curating the dupattas (unique pieces, reflecting the varied silk and patterns of India). Took almost a month to get it right.
Finally, Ruah was launced on April 13th 2025 (Resurrection Day / Easter). Just as Jesus rose from death, a new life began for me too !!
Scripture says that our body is God’s Holy temple and that He resides inside us. How much then we need to honour God with the way we treat our bodies. It’s so important to reflect Gods righteousness, inside out, through our lives.
I thank my family and friends who have stood by me, supporting every initiative, no matter how small it would be.
I thank every individual who is trusting Ruah and wanting it for themselves. We pray that each one of you would be blessed with the peace and presence of God.
Love,
(Sharon) Biju
